Perhaps life indeed imitates art: A recent study published in the American Journal of Health Promotion found that African-American smokers are more likely to stop smoking when they see media campaigns that encourage them to quit. The study, which surveyed 4,067 adult smokers, showed a threefold increase in the number of people trying to quit when they saw positive television, radio and Internet campaigns with diverse characters.
